Another Day

Another day in the fashion lacking community that i live in. Do you ever feel like you belong somewhere where there's more in the world? I really want to go to different places and meet different people and get inspired. I want to see Mulan and Paris and watch runway shows and meet celebrities. I look at what there is here for inspiration and how people just wake up and wear whatever and i just feel like i could never, ever do that. I could never just wake up and throw on some clothes without doing my makeup, hair and planning out every piece of a outfit. My idea of a casual, sitting around doing nothing outfit is a pair of jeans and a sweater and some flat boots with my hair straightened. lol. I don't wear sweats unless i'm working out. Some people judge me for it but it's not that I have really high standards or anything. It's just that i think that if you put the effort in to looking good then you'll feel better about yourself and people will appreciate you more and therefore you'll appreciate yourself more. Makes sense right?

In Style - January 2010 - thigh high boots

Thigh high boots- you've all seen it. On runways, on celebrities, in stores. Mile high boots are taking over! Say goodbye to cute, flat little ankle boots and hello to boots that go all the way up to your thigh.

How do you wear boots that high?

Wear them with either short dresses or short shorts. The top of the boots should still be visible when you wear them (don't wear clothes that go past the top of the boots). Showing a bit of leg makes them look best. You can wear them with tights, or with leggings. Just make sure when you wear them that you don't look too much like a stripper, keep yourself covered.

Going Glam - Make-up

We all know that everyone wants to look like the models on the runways, looking like a million bucks all with their makeup done perfectly and looking like a movie star, but how exactly can you look like them?

Make-up :
-bold makeup is used on the runway but you have to remember that they use so much more makeup then necessary because they want their features to be seen from a distance. Use smaller portions!
-Eyes: keep your eyes looking fierce and fresh by dusting a highlighting shadow over the lid of your eye and just above it. You can brush the shadow down to the outer corners of your eyes to make your eyes look bigger and brighter. Then find a eye shadow that is close to your skin tone and dust it from where your highlighting shadow finished, up to your eyebrows. Line the top of your eyes and the bottom with eyeliner. Finish the eyes by using one or two coats of mascara (depending on the length and color of your eyelashes).
- Lips: depending on the look you're going for; if you want something really bold and you want the focus of the face to be the lips, or if you want a more subtle look with the attention drawn up to your eyes, the lip color is different. For a bolder look wear a red lip stick. For a subtle look, wear a pale pink or peach color. Remember to look at your skin tone and choose a color from there.
- The final step is the general face. Add a small bit of blush on the cheeks if your cheeks are lacking that flushed look and add a light layer of foundation (and bronzer if you'd like). But before putting on the foundation make sure you prompt your skin by applying moisturizer first so the foundation doesn't look flakey and your skin doesn't look dry.

Follow these steps and you'll look fantastic. I used basic colors for this example, but if you want to try different colors for your eyes then don't be afraid to experiment!


Brown eyes- try shades of blue and purple!

Green/Hazel eyes- try shades of grey and blue!

Grey eyes- try shades of pink and blue!

Blue eyes- try shades of brown and green!

Trends for winter

Well we're still in the months leading up to what everyone's waiting for... spring. But for the next few months you still need to dress warm to avoid getting frost bite so here's some trends and tips to try.

1) Try to avoid turtlenecks. They might have been stylish a few years ago, but now they're not. Try wearing a scarf instead. It still keeps your neck warm and you can try different colors and patterns.

2) Leather Boots. Every girl must own 1 pair of leather flat boots. Black or brown are my personal favorite colors for flat boots. They're easy to wear with jeans, tights or leggings and they keep the warmth in and the snow out of your feet. If you're looking for a casual pair to wear then get a flat pair. They're easy to walk in and you have less of a chance of falling on any slippery side walks or ice then if you were wearing a pair with heels.

3) Layers. Never be afraid to layer clothes. Do you have a plain, boring shirt? Make it not so boring by adding a colored tanktop or t-shirt underneath it.

The Beginning

Hey guys well some of you might know me off of stardoll, mollymee. I've decided to make a blog about fashion. I'll talk about fashion in the real world and stardoll fashion. Anyways I hope you guys like and follow this blog. It's my first one so i hope it turns out okay. I'll try to keep it updated... so yeah :) Here's a design I made... I repeat, I designed this. and I actually entered in the stardoll design competition but didn't win. I have better ones but they're not with me at the moment. I am in love with clutches at the moment and high waisted dresses. Clutches are so easy to carry around and they match almost any outfit. High waisted dresses slim your waistline and make your legs would long. If you're self-conscious about wearing a dress with a high waistline then you can wear a belt over it, to blend in any stomach lines you might want to hide. I have soo many of these kinds of dresses. High waisted skirts are also popular. Tuck in a cute top and even add a cardigan if you want.
